Vickie Janice Long, 69, of Bono, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, October 18, 2021, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  She was born on March 18, 1952, to Gene and Aileen Knapp Wheeler in Lepanto, Arkansas.  She was of the Pentecostal faith and worked as a teacher’s assistant at Rivercrest High School. She enjoyed watching birds, gardening, puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Patricia Henderson and Donetta Cooksey.

Vickie is survived by one son: Richard Long (Judy) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two daughters: Tanja Mead (Jonathan) of Bono, Arkansas, and Sanja Craft (Wes) of Bono, Arkansas, one brother: Joseph Wheeler (Polly) of Dyess, Arkansas, two sisters: Carol Humphreys (Ricky) of Lepanto, Arkansas and Diana Jackson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Healing Hands Community Church in Trumann, Arkansas . Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Interment will follow the funeral service in Nichols Cemetery, Marked Tree, Arkansas.

It is recommended that you wear a mask and social distance.
