Thelma Jean Russell

Thelma Jean Russell, 81, of Tyronza, Arkansas departed this life on Saturday May 20, 2023, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  She was born on April 4, 1942, in Waterloo, Alabama to John Robert and Lady Jewell Allison Wood.  She was a member of the Upper Room Apostolic Church in Tyronza.  She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her 1^st husband: William Horace Gann, her parents, daughter: Janet Lynn Gann, three sisters: Virginia Smith, Louise Smith, and Kathern Gann.

Thelma is survived by her husband: Logan Russell, three sons: Timothy Gann (Virginia) of Trumann, William Gann (Angie) of Tyronza, and Preston Gann (Phoebe) of Marked Tree, five daughters: Jeanie Busby (Donald) of Trumann, Tina Stone (Scottie) of Lepanto, Frances Busby (Hubert) of Marked Tree, Donna Turner (Tony) of Tyronza, and Carlas Smith (James) of Marked Tree, one brother: David Wood of Tyronza, four sisters: Robbie Smith of Tyronza, Nadine Greene of Smithville, Clara Greene of Tyronza, and Nancy McIntire of Tyronza, twenty five grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren and one great - great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Upper Room Apostolic Church in Tyronza. 

Interment will follow service in Tyronza Cemetery.

Brother Dewayne Johnson and Brother Raymond Busby will be officiating the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
