Stella Lindley

March 8, 1960 — April 30, 2024

Stella Lindley

After battling cancer, fiercely, for several years Stella Lindley stepped into Eternity when Our Lord called her home on April 30th at 3:30 in the afternoon.

The next to the youngest of 13 children, Stella was born on March 8th 1960 on Kents Farm in Payneway Arkansas. She left home at the age of 15 and hitchhiked to Texas. She travelled back and forth between Marked Tree and Texas for several years. It was in Texas that she had her only child, LeErin.  After returning to Arkansas, she had various jobs, but mostly did clerical work and bookkeeping. Stella loved to go antiquing, thrifting, and shopping. She would pick up almost anything from the side of the road and turn it into something. Through one job she even had some of her work featured on Oprahs top 100 Christmas gifts list.  Later in life she honed in her artistic ability and became a painter. Although she would be what many would consider a starving artist because she gave away paintings instead of selling them. Some of her art found its home as far away as Australia.

Always one to lend a hand, even when she needed one herself. She loved her family and would run to aide them and strangers alike. While battling her own illness she cared for her sister daily. Searching to the ends of the Earth for a cure for dementia.

Years ago, she travelled to India with a family member who needed medical treatment there, even though she had a deep fear of flying. While there she became friends with people from Nepal who she later helped when their home village was destroyed by an earthquake. She never met a stranger, was quick to offer advice, and even quicker to give you a piece of her mind.

Stella believed in the Lord with every fiber of her being. There is no doubt that she is happy to be reunited with her loved ones, especially her mama and little brother Billy Joe.

Survived by her partner Larry Thomas, daughter LeErin Leath, Son in law Joshua Leath, Granddaughters Harley and Kennedy Leath, sibling’s Jesse Lindley, Homer Lindley, Judy Padilla, Robert Lindley, Mary Smithey, Patricia Tacito, Donald Lindley, Ronald Lindley, brother-in-law Jack Goodling, and nieces, nephews, and their children- all of whom could turn to her for whatever they needed.

Preceded in death by her parents Hozie Dayton Lindley and Velma Lindley Thrasher. Step Father Jamie Thrasher, brothers Junior Lindley, Jimmy Lindley, Julian Lindley, Billy Joe Lindley, and Sister-in-law Riza Lindley.
