Sophia McCollum

"Ms. Sally" Sophia McCollum, 91, of Etowah, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home. She was born on August 19, 1924 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England to Albert Edward and Emily Florence Lewis. She was a nurse in the Medic Corp in England, a volunteer for the American Red Cross, member of Etowah Baptist Church, Historical Society and Museum in Osceola, Garden Point Cemetery Association, poll worker for Etowah precinct and EOC commodity volunteer.

Ms. Sally is preceded in death by her husband: James "Buck" McCollum, parents, sister: Doreen Goodenough and 2 grandchildren: Gary and Neil.

She is survived by 2 Sons: Colin Lewis of Swindon, Wiltshire, England and Charles "Bo" McCollum of Etowah, Arkansas, 13 Grandchildren: Mark, David, Jason, Colin Jr, Shane, Glen, Paul, Adam, Laura, Louise, Mary, Sarah and Dean, 38 Great Grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday May 26, 2016 from 6 to 8 at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.
Funeral Service will be held Friday May 27, 2016 at 10:00am at The Etowah First Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah, Arkansas
Memorials may be sent to Etowah Baptist Church or Garden Point Cemetery.
