Shirley Fran Kausler

Shirley Fran Kausler, 76, of Marion, Arkansas, passed away in her home on March 11, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born October 6, 1946, to H.C. and Alice Clay in Marked Tree, Arkansas. After attending Lepanto High School, she met and married the love of her life, Jerry Kausler; soon after, their only child David was born. Later, she and Jerry attended Southern Baptist College (Williams Baptist), where they served as dorm parents. Upon completing their associate's degrees, Shirley enjoyed homemaking, gardening, and working alongside Jerry as he pastored Baptist churches in Alicia and Cord, Arkansas. Jerry went on to pastor at First Baptist Marked Tree, during which time Shirley received her bachelor's degree in education. As Jerry continued his ministry at First Baptist Leachville and First Baptist Harrisburg, Shirley taught adult education in Trumann, Arkansas, where she later retired.

For Shirley's entire life, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed hosting gatherings where she prepared delicious food and made all who were there feel welcome.

One of the things Shirley enjoyed most in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She took every opportunity to share her home, time, and love with them. Jake and Drew will always cherish their time with Maw Maw and Paw Paw!

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents H.C. and Alice Clay; four brothers, Jimmy Clay, Gordon Clay, Ronnie Clay, and Donald Clay; and two sisters, Doris Radloff and Susie Michael.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerald Kausler; son, David Kausler (Anna) of Marion, Arkansas; two grandsons, Jacob Kausler of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Andrew Kausler of Miami, Florida. She also leaves many family and friends who all loved her dearly.

Services will be held at Rivervale Baptist Church on March 15, 2023. Visitation will be at noon, with the service following at 2:00. Longtime family friends Maurice and Sandra Hitt, along with Larry Loggins, will lead the service.
