Roger Dale Ferrell, age 77, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Better known to many as Lt. Ferrell, Roger was born on April 25, 1948, to Willie and Erma Ferrell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Joe Ferrell. Roger dedicated his life to service and community. He served as a constable or deputy constable for more than 50 years, proudly known by Call Number 142. He also served 28½ years with the Arkansas Department of Correction, where he was known as Call Number 1443. In recognition of his dedication and excellence, he was named State Employee of the Year in 2008, representing all Arkansas state agencies. Roger took great pride in cheering on the Manila Lions, gardening, basketball, and sharing his love of Disney with his family. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he loved. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Ferrell; two children, Chris (Shannon) Ferrell and LeAnn (Danny) Helms; four grandchildren, Chad Bowman, Chase Ferrell, Buck Ferrell, and Chloe Helms; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Chad Bowman, Chase Ferrell, Buck Ferrell, Bryan Gist, Ben Light, Daryl Turner, and Mike Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers include Jackie Hill, Dennis Garner, Jeff Garner, Shorty Griggs, Jim Creecy, Danny Helms, Sr., Steve Welch, Gary LaRue, Greg Clark, Bo McCullom, and the MISSCO Class of 1967 and 1968. Roger Dale Ferrell leaves behind a legacy of service, loyalty, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. A funeral service will be held on January 19, 2026, at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.
