Reeder Smith

August 2, 1933 — October 10, 2019

Reeder Franklin Smith, 86, of Pratt, Kansas and formerly of Tyronza, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on Thursday October 10, 2019 at his residence.  He was born August 2, 1933 in Waterloo, Alabama to Russell Oakland and Mary Ann Perkins Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Ottie Smith, Melvin Smith, Elvin Smith, and Russell Smith, Jr.

Reeder married the love of his life on October 5, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Shirley Jane Barton Smith, of the home, 1 son: David Smith and wife Debbie of Tyronza, Arkansas, 1 daughter: Rebecca Hostetler and husband Monte of Pratt, Kansas, 1 sister: Polly Holbrook of Tyronza, Arkansas, 6 Grandchildren: Brandi Wages and husband Mike of Marked Tree, Deanna Branch and husband Ben of Marked Tree, Jacob Hostetler and wife Vicky of Grove Oklahoma, Monica Crandall and husband Jordan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rhett Hostetler of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Grayson Hostetler and wife Kyndal of Oklahoma City and 6 Great-grandchildren: Ryan and Emma Wages, Addison, Levi and Luke Branch, Emerlyn Crandall and Eleanor Hostetler.

Reeder was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church in Pratt, Kansas and a former member of Marked Tree Church of God in Marked Tree, Arkansas.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran in the Korean War and he loved his country.  He loved old cars, watching sports and working in the yard.  He enjoyed having fun, spending time with his family and was greatly loved by his family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.

Interment will follow at Tyonza Cemetery.
