Mary Ann Deeds

Mary Ann Deeds, loving wife, mother, proud grandmother, and great-grandmother, was surrounded by family as she began her walk with Jesus in heaven.

She now resides in her heavenly home with her husband, Larry Wayne Deeds; her parents, Telitha Alabama Chaney and A.M. Chaney; and her sisters, Fay Foote, Jean Dickerson, and Kay Farley. Brothers: Edward Chaney, Howard Chaney, William Chaney, George Chaney, Johnny Chaney, and Gary Chaney.

Mary Ann had many names: Ann, Lady Diamond, Auntie Ann, and possibly her most proud, Momann. She gave this world to her daughter, Regina Kellie Allen (Timothy Malone); her sons, Robbie Betts (Tammy), Richard Bowman, and Rodney Bowman; and her sisters, Joyce Jones and Susie Argo (Leonard). She also loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

After many years at American Greetings, Ann spent her days quilting, creating, and planning camping trips. She loved to learn and always wanted to learn something new, from quilting to construction to stained glass and even took a hand at painting. She loved horses, lighthouses, and Jesus.

Mary Ann was a devoted and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church of Lepanto, AR. She spent many years as the church secretary. She is remembered for her help in creating Easter events. As if she couldn’t be busy enough, Ann spent 25 years organizing the Lepanto Christmas Parades and served as the memory keeper, managing the many name boards and decorating the town Christmas tree. She also spent nights meeting with the Red Hatters, enjoying conversation and laughter.

Mary Ann was never at a loss for words and always voiced her love of Pepsi and complete disdain for chicken. You could find a pot of brown beans and golden cornbread at her table, with a good book close by.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas. Brother Gary Finley will officiate. She will rest beside her husband, Larry, at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas.
