M. Smith

M.G. Smith, 89, of Jonesboro, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2016 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on January 11, 1927 to Elbert and Thelma Lee Smith.
He spent most of his high school years at The Riverside Military Academy. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, where he taught Pathfinders Sunday School class, a farmer, Poinsett County Justice of the Peace for 25 plus years. He was a gentle soul and spiritual leader.
M.G. is preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Jane Claire Smith, brother: Elbert Smith Jr and sister: Virginia Roberts.
He is survived by his wife: Priscilla Smith of Jonesboro, Arkansas, daughter: Allison Smith (Keith) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, son: Chris Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas, brother: Gary Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00am at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends from 9:00am until service time.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be sent to the Cornerstone United Methodist Church Prison Ministry or The Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
