Louise Gibbs

Louise Gibbs, 78, of the Black Oak community, departed this life Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Jonesboro.  She was born October 24, 1940 to Willie and Mollie Phillips Burns.  She was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church.  She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, canning and flower gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: Bobby Gibbs and 1 brother Willie Burns, Jr.

Louise is survived by her husband of 59 years: Hershel “Blue” Gibbs of the home, 1 son: Frankie Gibbs of the home,  2 brothers: Louis Burns of Jonesboro and Shane Douglas of Jonesboro, 4 sisters: Madeline Dunham of Tyronza, Vandy Kelly of Lansing Michigan, Betty Burns of Marked Tree and Kathy Risenhoover of Pocahontas, 2 grandchildren: Jami Selby of Memphis, Tennessee, Jessica Gibbs of Rogers Arkansas, 2 great-grandchildren: Madison and Bayle Selby of Memphis Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 am and visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home, Marked Tree.

Burial will follow service in Tyronza Cemetery.

Arrangements under the care of Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
