Laura Louise Burfield

Laura Louise Burfield, 93, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Trumann, Arkansas. She was born on June 4, 1932, in Marked Tree to George W. White and Minnie Mildred Young White. She was an expert seamstress and made several beautiful wedding gowns and clothes. She was a devoted member of Neiswander Baptist Church where she faithfully served as song leader until the church closed its doors. Known for her strong will and spirited personality, she had a gift for telling it like it was, especially from the passenger seat, earning her title as the best backseat driver around. She was also known for her famous Saturday night cheeseburgers, homemade fries and mouthwatering donuts, all cooked with love and just a hint of mystery. True to her form, she never gave away her full recipes, always leaving out a secret ingredient to keep her cooking legacy her own. Lousie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years: Dan Burfield, her son: Randy Burfield, daughter: Janice Herbert, two sisters: Judy Brawley and Juanita Oliver and two brothers: Bobby and Sy Macklin.

Louise is survived by her two daughters: Danette Morrow and Tina Tucker, both of Marked, Tree, Arkansas, one son: Buddy Burfield of Memphis, Tennessee, one sister: Carolyn Sawrie of West Memphis, Arkansas, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and her beloved grand dog: Bella.

A funeral will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Brother Patrick Tucker will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
