John Francis Nunes, III, 58, of Lepanto Arkansas departed this life into God’s loving arms on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born on March 3, 1967, in Great Lakes, Illinois to John and Diana Nunes.
John graduated from Kellum High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia where he loved to surf and bodyboard alongside childhood friends. John’s heart and soul were found by the oceanside where he loved to fish, whether on the shoreline, deep sea fishing boat, a pier, or even a grassy edge, John was in his element. He made a career as a truck driver and was able to see so much of our beautiful countryside that most would only dream of seeing. He was an avid football fan rooting for his beloved Florida State Seminoles and New England Patriots. When he was not rooting for his football teams, he also loved his Boston Red Sox. Anybody who knew John knew he found pure joy with his friends and loved his family dearly, but nothing compared to the love he had for his daughter, Chloe. She was truly his heart and soul.
John is survived by his father John Nunes, Sr of Tennessee, daughter Chloe Nunes and granddaughter: Alayna Blair of Tennessee, son Todd (Amber, Kyleigh and Brooklyn) of Florida, sister Deborah Nunes and nephew Cody of Florida, his dear friend Lisa Greene of Arkansas and sweetness Deb Johnson of Arkansas, and a host of family and friends he cherished dearly.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Diana Herrington.
John will be layed to rest in Florida, near his beloved beaches.
Scripture: John 14:19-20 “Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Lepanto, Arkansas.
