Jimmie Don “Jim” Huff, 71 of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on March 16, 2021 at his home. He was born in Rector, Arkansas on September 24, 1949 to Don and Neva Rogers Huff.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marked Tree, Arkansas. Jim served with honor as Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1970-1973. He received a degree in Criminal Justice at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas and worked at the Sedgwick County Sherriff’s Department. Jim was always involved in anything that had to do with children and his babies. He played baseball, softball and loved watching all Marked Tree Sports. He drove the Activity bus in Anthony, Kansas.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, one son: Stephen Huff and one brother: Gary Huff.
He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years: Connie Huff, one daughter: Christy Lindquist (Elvis) of Emporia, Kansas, three grandchildren: Cody Lindquist of Emporia, Kansas, Ashley Hartig (Derek) of Overland Park, Kansas and Tyler Lindquist of Overland Park, Kansas, two great grandchildren: Ryker and Presley, three sisters: Donna Wortham of Marked Tree, Arkansas, Mary Meeks of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Geneva Kemp of Blytheville, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Marked Tree, Arkansas on, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Brother Dany Partlow will officiate the funeral service. Pallbearers are Aaron Bonham, Greg Cochran, John Easterling, Wayne Hendrix, Cody Lindquist, Tyler Lindquist, Keith Steele, and Larry Teague.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Friend, Doug Hying will officiate the service. Pallbearers are Aaron Bonham, Derek Hartig, Wayne Hendrix, Terry Hying, Cody Lindquist, Tyler Lindquist, and Kevin Logsdon.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to one the following organizations: Three Rivers Food Pantry, P.O. Box 699 Marked Tree, Arkansas 72365, First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 357 Marked Tree, Arkansas 72365, or West Haysville Baptist Church, 141 Lamar, Haysville, Kansas 67060.
