Jesse D. Lindley, 78, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on April 15, 1948 in Marked Tree to Hozie D. Lindley and Velma Lee Parks.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Mary Jane Lindley, his parents, five brothers: Junior Lindley, Julian Lindley, Jimmy Lindley, Ronald Lindley and Billy Joe Lindley, one sister: Stella Lindley.

Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he awarded a medal for sharpshooting. A man who felt most at home outdoors, he spent much of his life hunting and fishing, and working on the farm. Farming was not just his work, but something he truly loved, especially time spent on a tractor. Later in life, he worked in maintenance with the City of Jonesboro Parks and Recreation, where he took pride in mowing and keeping the grounds neat. He especially enjoyed overseeing inmate work crews, treating them with kindness and respect, often cooking them a pot of chili for lunch. He had a special place in his heart for animals, particularly beagles and chihuahuas, and was known for taking in any stray dog that crossed his path. His favorite companion was his hunting dog: Queenie.
