Homer Leslie Craig of Powhatan, Arkansas was born in Golden Lake, Arkansas on February 19, 1946 to George Elliott and Zelphia Blackwood Craig. He went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He was eighty years old. Ms. Deb Dunigan gave him twenty extra years of life when she gave him a kidney in 2006.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Pete Craig, George Craig Jr. “Jett”, Bill Craig and Larry Craig, sisters: Louise Wilkinson “Lucy”, Rena Mae Woods, Earlene Brown and Freida Williams, and his champion: Tamara Lennette Pounders.
Homer is survived by his wife: Kay Craig of fifty-seven years, brother: Clifford Craig (Diane) of Batesville, Arkansas, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He had a zest for life. He loved his family with a passion. He enjoyed people. Homer loved telling stories and often told the same ones over and over. His family always laughed at the appropriate spots, no matter how many times he told the story. Homer was a retired teacher, coach, and administrator. He enjoyed being around the students and most of them knew this. He was firm but fair. He enjoyed playing golf and taking roams all over the backroads with Kay. A true roam meant they had found a road they had not been on. Homer was an active member of Clear Spring Church. He knew Jesus as his personal Savior and will spend an eternity with Jesus Christ. Homer had the softest heart, felt compassion for others and would give you the shirt off his back. He will be missed. Heaven became brighter when his soul got home.
