George Pitts

July 25, 1953 — November 13, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Wayne Pitts, 68, of Marked Tree, Arkansas.  He departed this life on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He was born to Robert J., Sr., and Nora Faye Scull Pitts on July 25, 1953, in Harrisburg, Arkansas.

He loved his family with a fierceness that cannot be replicated and loved spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed literature, being outdoors and watching sports.

He is preceded in death by his mom: Nora Faye Pitts.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 29 years: Doris Pitts of the home, his dad: Robert J. Pitts, Sr., of Marked Tree, Arkansas, three daughters: Wendy Pitts (Michael) of Marked Tree, Arkansas, Heather Lucas (Junior) of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Nora Harbin (Shane) of Lepanto, Arkansas, one son: Keith Hale (Casey) of Marked Tree, Arkansas, one brother: Robert Pitts, Jr., (Melissa) of Marked Tree, Arkansas, two sisters: Bonnie Thompson of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Helen Pitts of Marked Tree, Arkansas, eight grandchildren whom he cherished: Taylor Wages (Sydney), Bailey Lucas, Dylan Lucas, Jasper Phillips and Caitlyn Monroe Harbin, Ashlynn Hale (Brandon), Havyn Hale, Sawyer Hale, one great-grandchild: Beau Wages and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Services will be held at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Interment will follow service in Marked Tree Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Taylor Wages, Bailey Lucas, Dylan Lucas, Jasper Phillips, Trey Pitts, Wesley Pitts, Jereme McFarland, Jamie McFarland and Gunner Pitts.          Honorary Pallbearer: Cliff Vanhoozer.

Brother Phillip Rodgers will officiate the service.

“God will wipe every tear from their eyes.  Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, anymore.”  Revelation 21:4.

It is recommended that you wear a face mask and social distance.
