Gary Neal Tippy

Gary Neal Tippy, 70, of Etowah, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born in Lepanto, Arkansas to Leroy, Sr., and Muriel Joann Sornson Tippy on March 26, 1956.

He is preceded in death by his father: Leroy Tippy, Sr., two brothers: Joe Charles Tippy and Perry Alan Tippy, two brothers-in-law: Ricky Duncan and Malcom Weathers, father-in-law: Merle Weathers, and mother-in-law: Arma Weathers.

Gary is survived by his wife of forty-three years: Teressa Tippy of the home, three daughters: Amy Wroten (Joe) of Etowah, Arkansas, Sarah Sparks (Daniel) of Bardstown, Kentucky and Natalie Driskill (Brock) of Gosnell, Arkansas, eight grandchildren: Callie Weathers, Kaitlyn Weathers, Connor Wroten (Natalie), Kobi Sparks, Katherine Sparks, Kooper Sparks, Aiden Driskill and Jackson Driskill, great granddaughter: Emerson Wroten, his mother: Muriel Joann Tippy, brother: Leroy Tippy, Jr., (Lucy) of Wilson, Arkansas, two sisters: Nancy Duncan of Wilson, Arkansas and Lisa Cook (Bill) of Manila, Arkansas, sister-in-law: Donna Tippy of Wilson, Arkansas, special friends: Gordon Smith, Wendell Pritchett, Charles Bo McCollum, Mark Weathers and Jeff Wallace, his fur side kick: Winnie, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Gary worked for John Deere Greenway Equipment Company and was a 1975 graduate from Rivercrest High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and devoted many years as a volunteer Fire Fighter for the Etowah Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief. He had a lifelong love for the outdoors and the simple pleasures of country life. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and found great joy in golfing, fishing, and hunting quail. Many days he spent his time riding the levee in search of deer or taking drives looking at the crops. If it was green and yellow, he loved it; anything bearing the John Deere name. He loved his farming buddies and his love for the land and his family will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held at Etowah Baptist Church, Etowah, Arkansas on Monday August 3, 2026, at 11:00 p.m.

A visitation will be held at Delancey Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Garden Point Cemetery, Etowah, Arkansas.

Brother Danny Helms, Jr. and Brother Jerry Weathers will officiate the service.
