Dorothy Jean Woollums Teague

Dorothy Jean Woollums Teague departed this life on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the home of her youngest child, Alan Lynn Teague, of Marked Tree, AR.  She was born on July 28, 1932, in Dell, AR, to Samuel Sylvester Woollums, Jr. and Lila Helen Glover Woollums.  She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church of Marked Tree, where she was a Sunday School teacher and well known for her famous chicken and dressing at all the church fellowships. Dorothy was a member of the Marked Tree Women’s Progressive Club. She worked as a telephone operator for Ritter Telephone Company in her young-adult years.  She was retired from the American Greetings Manufacturing Company in Harrisburg, AR. where she was a loyal and faithful employee for 23 years.  Dorothy’s loyalties were to God and her family.  She enjoyed fashion, music, and theater.  She especially enjoyed attending Broadway shows with her daughters and friends in Memphis, TN. Her children, grandchildren and closest friends will remember her for her sense of style and her sharp wit.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Audie Mayes Teague, Sr, her parents, one sister and four brothers.  She is survived by five children:  Karen Teague Mullenix (Don) of Jonesboro AR, Dianne Teague Hayes (Ron) of Frisco, TX, Dr. Audie M. Teague, Jr. (Pam) of Camden, AR, Debbie Teague Hudson (Bryan) of Olive Branch, MS, and Alan Lynn Teague (Michelle) of Marked Tree, AR, nine grandchildren:  Ronald Keith Hayes, Jr., Patrick Lawrence Ashlock, Holly Hayes McCall, Dr. Kristen Teague Grummer, Craig Stephen Teague, Dr. Robin Rye Dabney, Donald Ryan Mullenix, Gavin Alan Teague, and William Aaron Marcum, eleven great-grandchildren, and two sisters:  Helen Diane Rodriguez of Kansas City, MO, and Lola Mae Balcsik of Saint George, UT.

All services will be private.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
