Doris Shipman

Doris Ann (Jones) Shipman, 62, of Lake City, Arkansas, formerly of Caraway, Arkansas, departed this life Friday, May 7, 2020 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  She was born on October 2, 1957 to Wilmer and Ethel Drennen Jones.  Doris was a homemaker and loved wrestling, dancing, her kids and grandkids.  She enjoyed time spent with family.

She is preceded in death her husband: Ronald Shipman, her parents, 2 brothers: Stanley and Cecil Jones, 4 sisters: Punk Davis, Ruth Cockrell, Wanda Weaver and Patricia Griggs and1 Great grandchild.

Doris is survived by her 3 sons: Shawn Shipman (Shaunda) of Lepanto, Arkansas, Anthony Shipman ( Heaven) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Brett Shipman (April) of Caraway, Arkansas,  4 daughters: Christy Woods (Joe) of Evening Shade, Arkansas, Jennifer Shipman (Brian) of Corning, Arkansas, April Shipman (Joseph) of Rivervale, Arkansas and Blair Sweeney of Caraway, Arkansas, 2 brothers: Oran Jones of Warrenton, Missouri and Buddy Jones of Lepanto, Arkansas, 4 sisters: Sue Evans and Wilma Jean Evans , Wachula, Florida, Heidi Gilbert of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Evon Harrison of Chenoa, Indiana, 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Graveside service will be Monday, May 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas.  Visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2020 from 11:00 am – 12:45 pm at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home, Lepanto, Arkansas.

Due to COVID 19 social distancing will be practiced at the cemetery. During visitation there will be no more than 10 people in the building at one time and masks are required.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto.
