Billie Lee Tyer, 65, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, April 27, 2026 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born on May 8, 1960 in Lepanto to William Block Tyer and Loretta Lee Capooth Tyer.
She earned a Master’s degree from Arkansas State University and dedicated fifteen years of her life as a special education teacher. She had a true calling for working with children, and one of her greatest joys was taking her students to the Special Olympics. A free spirit at heart, she loved music, and found happiness in spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her sister: Kellye Johnson.
Billie is survived by her mother: Loretta Moore of Marked Tree, her father: Bill Tyer (Cathy) of Blytheville, two daughters: Athena Vance (Andrew) of Jonesboro and Devon Wheeley (B.J.) of Jonesboro, two brothers: Bill Tyer of Lee Summitt, Missouri and Brad Tyer of Grain Valley, Missouri, three grandchildren: Wrenley Wheeley, Rue Bea Canamore, and Calum Wheeley, and her three fur babies she called Little Bit or Little Dog..
Funeral services will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery, Lepanto.
