Barbara Ann Prescott Sanford, 82, of Dyess, Arkansas departed this life on Sunday October 18, 2025. She was born on June 6, 1943 in Kenton, Tennessee to Robert Prescott and Lucille Hicks Prescott.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Monette Stacks, Pola Huff, JoAnn McCord and Sue Clifton.
Leaving behind a legacy of devoted family is her husband: James Sanford of the home, two sons: Ben Sexton (Lisa) of Bondsville, Arkansas and Rob Wilson (Veronica) of Lepanto, Arkansas, three daughters: Cindy Burg (Alec) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Roni Sanford of Chicago, Illinois and Kim Rogers of Chicago, Illinois, one brother: Joe Prescott of Payneway, Arkansas, one sister: Mae Carey of Harrisburg, Arkansas, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Barbara was a devoted Christian who loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, watching birds, and listening to music. She sang with the Country Crossroads Singing Group and often participated in benefits shows, sharing her talent with others. A gifted songwriter, she wrote “Three Time Loser.” She will be remembered as a strong woman with a big heart who touched many lives through her kindness, faith, and love for music.
A funeral service will be held at Delancey Funeral Home on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas.
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto.
