Alice Christie Carmichiel, 74, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born on February 25, 1951 in Dyess, Arkansas to the late Irven Page Carmichiel and Patsy Pierce Carmichiel.
Christie was a graduate of Dyess High School. For over thirty years she worked in sales and later retired after twenty-two years with Walmart in Osceola. Following retirement, she continued to give her time and talents as a substitute teacher for the Rivercrest School District, known then as South Mississippi County School District, where she enjoyed working with students and staff.
One of her greatest joys in life was raising her grandson, James Carmichiel, who had a very special place in her heart.
In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitching and traveling to visit friends, always cherishing the memories she made along the way.
Christie will be remembered for her kindness, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson: James Carmichiel, three brothers: Joel, David and Scott Carmichiel and special friend: Johnny Langston.
Christie is survived by her son: Michael Wayne Carmichiel (Brandy) of Osceola, Arkansas, two granddaughters: Elizabeth Carmichiel Tyler of Detroit, Michigan and Maggie Hensley of Osceola, Arkansas and niece: LaDonna Smith (Wesley) of Keiser, Arkansas.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Keiser First Baptist Church in Keiser, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mended Paws Sanctuary, 137 Randall Road, Blytheville, Arkansas 72315.
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Lepanto.
