Albert Riney

June 13, 1940 — April 9, 2021

Albert E. Riney Sr. of Osceola, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 9th, 2021 at the age of 80. Known for years as Captain Riney in the Osceola Police Department, he was a loving husband, a great father, and an awesome grandfather. Albert came from a wholesome and proficient farming family near Pocahontas, Arkansas. He later ably served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Tombigbee, and diligently served his community for twenty years in the Osceola Police. He achieved the rank of Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Albert loved his family dearly. He valued hard work and was an able provider. He had a natural talent for organization, management and even for mechanics and electronics, which he applied after retiring at the end of his twenty-year career in law enforcement.

Although he touched the lives of many, those he leaves behind count themselves blessed to have been a member of his family. Among them are his wife of fifty-five years, Margie Louise Riney; his son Albert E. Riney Jr.; five grandchildren, Michael Ammons, Jamie Ammons Hamlett, Abagail Ammons, Gabriel Ammons, and Kevin Riney; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Ammons and Landon Ammons. Albert is also survived by three brothers, Richard, Michael and Joseph Riney, and four sisters, Norma Lee, Joyce Roth, Patricia Hedges, and Jeanette Walker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jennie and Leo Riney; his daughter Deborah Riney; and four brothers, John, Samuel, Ralph, and Roger Riney.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
