X.L. Ragan

March 23, 1935 — January 18, 2021

X.L. Ragan, 85, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life Monday, January 18, 2021.  He was born on March 23, 1935 in Parkin, Arkansas to A. G. and Myritle Lee Dunn Ragan.

He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  He was a former member of Neiswander Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church.  He was Sunday school director, taught men’s Sunday school class for 30 years and the youth class for 10 years.  He was a very Godly man.

X.L. is preceded in death by his wife: Mildred Woodring Ragan, his parents, three sons: Lamar, Dennis and Kenny McDaniel, two daughters: Nellie Kaye Ragan and Ceda McDaniel, three brothers: James, Bobby and Sonny Ragan, two sisters: Frankie Brewer and Dorothy Holt and one grandson: Michael Shane McDaniel.

He is survived by two sons: Ronnie McDaniel (Cathy) of Tyronza, Arkansas and Rickie McDaniel of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, eight granddaughters: Conseaula Martin (Chris) of Wynne, Arkansas, Lisa Rines (Darrell) of West Memphis, Arkansas, Shannon Morgan (Milton) of West Memphis, Arkansas, Rhonda Plane (Scott) of Liberty, South Carolina, Alana Buster (Eddie) of New Albany, Mississippi, Carla King (Gary) of Wynne, Arkansas, Janna McDaniel of Flippin, Arkansas and Kim McDaniel Coulter of Trumann, Arkansas, seventeen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, cousins: Brandie and Chris Baker of Marked Tree, Arkansas and special friends: Doreen and Ted Hayse of Marked Tree, Arkansas

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  Both funeral and visitation will be at Trinity Baptist Church 784 Hwy 75 N. Marked Tree, Arkansas 72365.

Interment will follow funeral service at Akin Cemetery in Vandale, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.
