Claudine Wells

October 19, 1929 — December 18, 2018

Claudine Wells, 89, departed this life on December 18, 2018, at her residence on Old Payneway Lane, Trumann, Arkansas.  She was born October 19, 1929 to Lee Garfield and Annie Thomas Loggains.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Marked Tree for over 45 years.  She loved the Lord and in order to serve Him, she was a teacher to all ages and the church secretary until her retirement at the age of 81.  She was a lady with a love of music and many talents, such as sewing, painting, ceramics, cake decorating and anything new that might be a challenge or popular at that time.  One of her favorite things in the world was spending time with family.  She left a Godly heritage to her children, grandchildren and generations to come.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Arthur Lee “Hoot” Wells, Jr., her parents, son: Billy Gillis, three brothers and five sisters.

Claudine is survived  by 2 sons: Larry Gillis (Sherry) of Brunswick, Tennessee and Greg Gillis (Beth) of Bruce, Mississippi, 2 daughters: Judy Duvall (Paul) of Marked Tree,  and Robin Jones (Jim) of Trumann, 2 step-sons: Robert Wells of Walnut Ridge and Michael Wells (Kim) of Gosnell, 3 step-daughters: Syble Aden of Livingston, Tennessee, Carol Wells of Nashville, Tennessee and Fran Cavenaugh (Don) of Walnut Ridge, 2 sisters: Donna Dill of Georgetown, Illinois and Geraldine Gillis of Marked Tree, 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be December 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm and visitation will be from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Marked Tree.

Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery.

Family request memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or First Baptist Church in Marked Tree.

Arrangements under the care of Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
